By 1930, Andrew was living in Norwich, Connecticut and married to Anastacia Gianacopolous (1889 - 1953). also born in Greece. They were living with their children William (Agamemnon Anargyros), May, George, James, Bessie, and Irene in a rented home on Franklin Street and Andrew was a cook in a restaurant. He was the sole source of support for the family.
Ten years later, Anargyros was 52 years old and living in Middletown, Connecticut, on Grand Street, in a rented home. He was a naturalized citizen, had completed 8th grade, and was now called a "chef" in a restaurant. He and Anastasia had added son James, 3, to the fold. Eldest son James was a waiter in the restaurant, and son George was also a chef.
At 55, Andrew was living on Laurel Street in Middletown. He was 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighed 215 pounds and described as "stout" (well, he WAS around food all day) and had brown eyes, grey hair, and a "ruddy" complexion.
