Oh yes, she lived at Black Rock with Violante. Kenneth was away, serving in Burma and then in India.

Phyllis was my mother and the mother of Robin Rollo Cluny Wallace-Crabbe. She married the journalist, Kenneth Wallace-Crabbe in 1930. Kenneth was to serve wth the RAF (not the RAAF, strangely) during World War Two. He served in Singapore, Burma and India
through the War. Phil stayed at home in our suburban flat during the War. Kenneth had only one home leave during those four years,
but wrote us numerous air letters from India. He won the OBE for his service in Burma.
