William married Dorothy Lee Hodgin, 1925-2003, on January 2 1943 and they had Donald Lee Cupit, 1945-2000, and Billy Frank Cupit, 1947--2012. In the 1930 federal census, William was listed by his middle name Floyd, age 9. He was living with parents Clara and John as well as siblings Lloyd, Kenneth, Ray, and Evelyn. The family was living in Van Alstyne,Grayson,Texas and Floyed was attending school. In the 1940 federal census, William was going by William F Cupit. He was age 19, living in San Antonio TX and a soldier in the US Army. On his WW2 draft card for young men, Nov 21 1945, William stated that he had an honorable discharge, was 5 ft 10 in, 138 lbs, had a ruddy complexion, brown hair, brown eyes, and his next of kin was his mother who lived in Van Alstyne TX.
