Francois Family History & Genealogy

I have been meticulously going through my creole ancestral line from Louisiana, but the hardest feat of all is that my creole ancestors had kept an immense amount of secrets for which have hugely deterred their future descendants from growing the family tree. The most effective genealogical site of all has been ancestry.com for which I have gotten a wealth of information by searching through the U.S. Federal Census recently. It was definitely a wonderful ancestral site to connect to your great ancestors.

I am a very proud New Orleanian, but my creole ancestors had come from Plaquemines Parish (Pointe a la Hache) for which was a shock because my family thought that our creole ancestors had come from Myrtle Grove, although, they might have lived there at some point. This is on my mother's side of the family, and we can only go as far as to my great-great-great grandmother Deliette whose real name was Eliste, but she said that her maiden name was Francois, but I don't know if that is reliable or credible due to the many secrets.
She and her sister Carmelite had never talked about their mother or father for which was the most unusual thing that I had ever heard. SISTERS WHO HAD NEVER MENTIONED THEIR MOTHER'S NAME OR FATHER'S NAME, THAT IS VERY PECULIAR.

Eliste had two children whose names were "Pelagie" Davis who had changed her name to Cora Lee Davis for whom my grandmother is named after her grandmother. "Pelagie" is my great-great grandmother and her brother
Lawrence "Uncle Leonce" Davis is my great-great-great uncle. My great-great-great grandmother Eliste, in 1887, had married a man by the name of Richard Jefferson for whom doesn't have a biological link to Pelagie or Lawrence.

Eliste had two other siblings for whom we have "ONLY" known of their existence.
They were my great-great-great-great aunt Carmelite Francois Manuel Fisher and my great-great-great-great uncle Hypolite Francois. My great-great-great-great aunt Carmelite Francois who had also gone by Carmelite Manuel hmmmmmmm there is much more than what we had ever thought. Her grandmother's name is Harrish Manuel for whom I hadn't ever known of her existence or had ever known my greattttttttt aunt Carmelite going by Carmelite Manuel because she had always said that she was a "Francois". I don't know that great detail about their brother Hypolite Francois, but he had a son named Hypolite Francois Jr. Carmelite had told my grandmother her great-great niece that their father's name was Hypolite Francois, and I did find many Hypolites in the Louisiana Census, but we can't go any further than Carmelite, Eliste, and Hypolite because they hadn't talked about their mother and I don't know if Hypolite is their father because they had concealed so many crucial details.

My grandmother had told me that my great-great-great-great aunt Carmelite would speak in FRENCH so the children wouldn't know what she was saying to her creole relatives. If she had anything that was very essential or of a great urgency, she would discuss the concerns in FRENCH. Great-great-great-great aunt Carmelite didn't have any children from what I know at this moment, but she did raise Pelagie's daughter who is my great grandmother Auralia Davis, my maternal grandmother's mother. Pelagie had given my great grandmother Auralia to my greatttttttt aunt Carmelite when Auralia was 3 years old. I don't know why she hadn't given her daughter to her mother for whom would have seemed to be the most plausible candidate of all to raise her child, but Pelagie had her reasons for which were very valid in her view. Carmelite had married John Fisher on December 24, 1912. There are so many French creole secrets in my family that it may not be a very prudent idea to unearth any secrets, but I need to know from where I come, it is imperative to know from where you come.
