Born in the Philippines, Rufino was a veteran of World War I. According to his World War II draft registration card, dated about 1942, Rufino was age 48, living in Phoenix, Arizona, was 5 feet 2 inches tall, had brown eyes and black hair, and had a dark brown complexion. He weighed 125 pounds and was Filipino. He had 3 tattoos: upper left arm - sailor USN War 1917 - 1918; lower left arm - woman, Venus; and right upper arm - a cross. He was married to Josephine Justeniane and was employed by Maricopa County at the County Hospital. In the 1950 federal census, Rufino was 56 and living in Phoenix Arizona with his children Rosie (17), Josephine (14), and Tony (10). He said that he was married but there was no wife in the household. He was unable to work. When Rufino passed in 1973, he was survived by his wife, Josephine, and his three children. Tata adored his daughter in law because of her love for Tony and that she was always a great person when it came to family life & career. My Tata IS also proud of current extensive family as we are ALL so proud of memories he bestowed upon us all. My eldest daughter is proof of in that she is his name sake. One other important thing for me is that he married my nana on May 07 that is the exact same day I married. He was there for that special first dance at my reception. In addition of to his information on that special meaningful day he told me he was always proud of me 😂
Barbara my greatest Auntie who made me feel competent to achieve & thrive in "normal life". It is possible for the one person to display that kind of sincere love in order to even attempt to succeed in life. Together they saved me
