My Great Great Grandmother Catherine Haun or Hahn Mowery or Mowrer b. 1822-1915 Ohio
This elder is my Great Great Grandmother on my Dad's Father's side...my Grandpa's Grandmother. She looks pretty stern in this photo. I've posted other photos of her as I found them. This is really fun for me to see and imagine who they were when they were alive. Remember the old saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words"...so true!
My Great Great Grandmother Haun or Hahn, my Great Grandmother Eliza Emily Mowery or Mowrer Johnson with Great Aunts and Uncle on my Dad's Father's side. Family resemblance? I think so!!
My Dad's Father (my Grandpa) William Herbert Johnson's Mothers family. Back row, R to L: Sarah Ellen Mowery Campbell, Elizabeth Frances Mowery, Jacob Henry Mowery, Eliza Emily Mowery Johnson Coffman (my Great Grandmother Johnson) and Lettie Mowery Mull. Catharine Haun Mowery, my Great Great Grandmother, and Elizabeth Frances. I have to track these relatives in my mind based on who I actually remember. So, my Dad's Father, my Grandpa Johnson's Mother is Eliza Emily Mowery Johnson Coffman; so my Grandpa Johnson's Grandma is Catherine Haun or Hahn, and other iterations of the name...from Germany/France depending on what year! Like the early years in our country, Europe also changed their borders from time to time.

My Great Grandmother, my Dad's Father's Mother
This is my Great Grandmother Johnson (maiden name Mowery or Mowrer) as a young woman. It's wonderful to see photos of her as a young person and then as an elder. She was born in 1850 and died in 1928. Unfortunately, my Great Grandfather Johnson died young so my Grandpa Johnson didn't have his Father long enough. She remarried a Coffman so I'm sure that helped.

When Eliza Emily Mowery or Mowrer was born on November 19, 1850, in Woodstock, Virginia, her father, EPHRAIM, was 33, and her mother, CATHARINE, was 28. She married ROBERT G. JOHNSON and they had two children together. After he died, she then married Robert A. Coffman in 1884. She died on August 22, 1928, in Manassas, Virginia, at the age of 77, and was buried there.
