The ARAGON Ballroom

My mother, Irene Mary Petrokus met her future husband, Louis F. Poss, an Army Sargent during WW II at the famous 'World's Wonder Ball Room', The ARAGON in Chicago, Illinois. When I asked her how did she know that Dad was the one she would marry, she recalled smiling, they were walking up one of the grand staircases of the Aragon Ballroom, and were briefly separated due to the crowd. My father grabbed her hand firmly as they continued through the crowd making their way to the dance floor. When my father held her hand, she knew he was the one.
