Mr. and Mrs. Charles Joseph Shingler of
Eyre-street, well known residents of Ballarat,
celebrated their golden wedding on Monday,
having been married at St. Paul's Church of
England, Geelong, in December , 1855. The
couple have eleven children and 27 great
grandchildren.

She was in a relationship with Francis Thomas Kemp, and had children Ellen Bertha Terang (Kemp) Olson, Francis Charles Trawalla"Walter" Kemp, Harold Hopetoun Beaumont Kemp, Edward Albert Harcourt Kemp, and Arthur Phillip Percival Kemp. Ellen Kemp died at age 83 years old on June 30, 1940 in Mentone, Kingston City County, and was buried at Coburg Pine Ridge Cemetery in Preston, Darebin City County.
