My Great Grandfather born 1883 and died 1939. Possibly 1st Volunteer Battalion formerly The 3rd Middlesex Volunteer Rifle Corps who took part in the Boer War.

This is my grandfather, Richard Collett who served in both the Boer War and WW1. His unit was First Life Guards. He was a fine horseman and a decorated soldier. He was also a wonderful man. He was born in Oxfordshire in 1881 and died in England in 1961. I am very proud of him.
