Charles Dill SPACE
Charles Dill SPACE was born in Sussex county, N. J., on January 12, 1848. Charles' parents separated when he was five years old and he and his older brothers were finished raising by other families. In the 1860 Census, he was in the home of his uncle William SPACE in Newton, Sussex Co., NJ. He enlisted in the Regular Army at Cleveland, OH on Aug 9, 1870 and served in the 6th Cavalry, F Troop at Fort Griffin and Fort Richardson in Texas and in Wichita, KS until May 8, 1872 when he deserted from a camp near Ft. This group of photos was with the Gates ORR descendants' family pictures and was just labeled "Charlie Orr." This man doesn't fit in any known branches of the family, so it is a mystery how he might fit.

2020 marks 20 years since the inception of AncientFaces. We are the same team who began this community so long ago. Over the years it feels, at least to us, that our family has expanded to include so many. Thank you!
