Samuel Pilling of Williamstown Australia was born on March 29, 1863 in Ballarat East, VIC to Samuel Pilling and Mary Mcgrath Pilling. He had siblings Catherine Ellen Pilling, Margaret Pilling, Edward Pilling, Ellen Pilling, Margaret Pilling, and Catherine Ellen Phillips. He married Elizabeth Gurney Pilling, and had a child Samuel Gordon Pilling. Samuel Pilling died at age 81 years old in 1944 in Williamstown.
