In the 1909 Electoral rolls for Victoria, "Joseph Lander Snadden" is listed at 365 Brunswick St, Fitzroy, as a watchmaker. This was his father and living at the same address was his mother, Jane Price Snadden., housewife.
In the 1954 Electoral rolls for Mildura, Joseph Jr was listed as living at Block 188 Red Cliffs (with Robert Showers Snadden, son?) and was a "horticulturist".
His grandfather, Joseph Snadden, died 1878, owned the Buck's Head Hotel on the corner of Napier and Condell Streets in Fitzroy (it was opposite the original Fitzroy Library).
Ernest George Griffiths was born in 1906 in Watchem, Buloke Shire County, VIC Australia to Elizabeth Jane (Bennett) Griffiths and Robert George Griffiths, and had siblings Albert Edward Griffiths, Florence May (Griffiths) Snadden, Amy Maria (Griffiths) Wilson, and Phyllis Maud (Griffiths) Pavletich. Ernest Griffiths died at age 80 years old on February 26, 1987 in Mildura, Mildura Rural City County, and was buried at Cowangie Cemetery, in Cowangie.
