My mom's side of the family is Swedish (and still lives in Sweden) and she instilled in me lots of Swedish heritage and traditions which has made me who I am today. My dad's side of the family is German and Irish and the most likely the side of the family I get all my freckles from. Family is so important, and welcome everyone to discover more about them, their history, and share about their loved ones who make up the history of who we are!

Christos George Katsikadakos was born in January of 1948 in Gytheio, Greece to Maria Katsikadakos and George Katsikadakos, a local police officer and public official. He is the youngest child of 9 (2 of which passed away at a young age). He lived in the small Southern Greek town of Mina in Mani. Christos grew up helping his family with herding their livestock (sheep) and various other tasks that are part of rural country life in southern Greece. Christos entered into the Greek military at the age of 18 and earned a degree in engineering. Following his completion of service he began working on shipping vessels traveling to countries around the globe. In the early 1970’s Christos came to the United States on one of the vessels he worked and docked in Fells Point, Baltimore, Maryland. Seeking opportunities that he knew the United States could provide him, Christos chose to remain in the United States. He met his wife Delores in 1975 and they married in 1976. Christos and Delores had 3 children: Lola, born in 1977, Georgia, born in 1979 and Dimitris, born in 1981. In his early years as an immigrant to the United States, he worked various jobs from restaurants to exterior painter for large businesses and even the Maryland Dry Dock. Eventually Christos became a Auto Mechanic and car salesman. Due to his remarkable skill with mechanics and his reputation in the community for being fair, friendly and honest, he became a successful Baltimore City small business owner. Christos was forced to retire from his profession in car sales and automotive mechanics in 2006 due to health issues arising from his former exposure to asbestosis while working at Maryland Dry Dock and a long history of bronchitises that began as a child from severe chronic bouts of pneumonia. Christos sold his business and moved to a large property in Rosedale, Maryland where he lived with his family until 2022. As their children married and moved away, Christos and his wife Delores moved to Pylesville, Maryland to retire in a home surrounded by the Harford County countryside and closer to their children and grandchildren. Christos remained very happy surrounded by the love of his wife, children and grandchildren. Surrounded by his family, Christos passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, just shy of his 77th birthday from complications of his bronchiectasis and pneumonia but his powerful spirit, his contagious joy and the love of his family will never fade.
