He then married Margaret Mary "Meg" Sergei (1913 - 1977) in 1943 and they had one daughter, Reina. They divorced on August 17th, 1952. His third marriage was to Valerie Elizabeth Patsy Assenheim (1928 - 1994) on August 21st. 1952. They had a son, Steve, born in 1954 and a daughter, Sue. Sidney James also had a relationship with Barbara Ann Deeks, DBE (1937 - 2020). A veteran, Sidney served in South Africa's Union Defence Force Entertainment Unit during World War II. After World War II, Sidney moved to the United Kingdom to pursue a successful career as an actor. He died on April 26th, 1976 in Sunderland, England at the age of 62. He is buried in Golders Green Crematorium in Golders Green, London.
