I went to school at McKinley Elementary School, just a short walk through the courtyard next to St. Lucy's Catholic Church. I had my first holy communion at St. Lucys in 1964 (?)

My mom's side of the family is Swedish (and still lives in Sweden) and she instilled in me lots of Swedish heritage and traditions which has made me who I am today. My dad's side of the family is German and Irish and the most likely the side of the family I get all my freckles from. Family is so important, and welcome everyone to discover more about them, their history, and share about their loved ones who make up the history of who we are!

Arlene Lozak of Parlin, Middlesex County, NJ was born on October 12, 1927, and died at age 69 years old on August 2, 1997.

Denis Patrick Kelly , was my father. My mother divorced him when I was six months old ( February 1959 ). He spent the rest of his life in and out of prisons - the day he collapsed on the pavement outside the Barnstable Correctional facility in Massachusetts on May 2, 1975. Denis is buried in a cemetery in Hanover, NJ. (specifics unknown).
I saw him three times: #1. the day he kidnapped me from the babysitter . We spent the day at his girlfriend's condo while my mother was sick in the hospital- ( I was 5-6 months old to my recollection, and yes I still remember visually the account) ; #2 . at age 11/12 which didn't turn out a pleasant visit - more emotionally charged interaction for a boy of that age and caused me considerable emotional distress for the next 17-18 year; #3. at the funeral parlor in May 5-6 (not sure of exact day). A few years later we spoke on the phone shortly before my birthday.
In his older years behind bars, his journalistic skills became evident; having his work published in the prison newspaper an in local area newspapers in Barnstable. An article which was published - ( an assumption only) -in the local town of Barnstable newspaper entitled, " Once Around The Courthouse" -was an interesting tale. According to the article , he enjoyed a "frosty gin an tonic" - which was my favorite as well. Unfortunately, I know longer have access to the article , lost forever - unless someone can play the Columbo role an hunt it down.
He was an intelligent man of sorts, more of this came from being street smart somewhat. He was a very good saxophone musician in his younger years, I've been told by his sister. He enjoyed the crooners an (maybe) big band style singers of the 1950/1960's ( this would be a guess on my part an based on what I did know of him) . He particularly enjoyed the music of the Carpenters in the 70's .
