Frederick Hubbard Gwynne's first wife was a socialite, Jean "Foxy" Reynard (a granddaughter of New York City mayor William Jay Gaynor), to whom he was married for almost 30 years. They had 5 children. He then married Deborah (they met in 1980, when she was 30) on March 9th, 1988. They were married until his death in 1993. Deborah had grown up in Maryland and after her marriage to Fred Gwynne, they bought a 280 acre farm in Maryland, returning to her roots.
