My Uncle died from TB at a young age. My mom told me that he gave her a medal that he got from a soldier. My mom called him Robert, I think it was the white man's version of the Russian name Roman.
My Uncle Alec passed away from cancer. I remember him and Aunt Maggie spending Thanksgiving with us. Its a wonderful memory and I'm thankful for it.
She passed away at home from TB when my mother was a young girl. I never had the chance to meet her.
I was very young when Auntie Ann passed away. I think it was from lung cancer. I remember seeing her lying in a coffin and my mother telling me to kiss her good bye. I didn't really understand about death then. She was so still, pale, and cold. After that day I've had a very hard time attending funerals.
