He had a sister Lois Sachs Noble. He married Mary Miller Sachs on March 26, 1938, and had children Hanson Philip Sachs, Sarah Elizabeth Sachs, Ward H Sachs III, and John Allan Sachs. Ward Sachs died at age 87 years old on May 26, 2002, and was buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Arlington County, VA.
