Steve Carey

From Waterville, Maine and Connecticut.

Originally my family history came from Beauceville, Quebec. Part of my family changed their last name from "Busque" to "Carey" during the early 1900's. A couple males of The Busque family arrived through New Hampshire's Ports of Entry and settled in Waterville, Maine to work in the textile industry, soon after the US Civil War ended. In order to better the family chances of success, changing the original French "Busque" last name to an Irish name "Carey" provide the chance to move up in middle management positions in the local industry. Today, the Carey\Busque family still exists in Waterville, Maine. The Waterville cemeteries are full of generations of Carey tombstones since the late 1880s.
