My father Lyle was married to Freda Anne Cook whom he met in a milk bar that she worked in during the Second World War in Dean St Albury.
They had 5 children.
The first baby was still born at Yackandandah hospital
The others siblings are Barbara Gaye, Kenneth Mitchell, Ian Leslie, Susan Josephine.
Dad worked for the SEC in Mt Beauty for about 25+ years.
The SEC were then developing the Kiewa Hydro scheme.
Mum and Dad initially lived at a guest house in Tawonga .
The guest house is situated next to the Tawonga store.
Dad then started working at the timber mill which was situated in Tawonga at that time ( now gone)
They lived in one of the cube houses
They then shifted to Lower Bogong when dad started with the electricity commission which was a small settlement just above What is now Clover dam and power station.
They then moved to a house in the newly developing Mt Beauty and lived in 4 Fairway Av until I was about 4 years old then they purchased a house from the SEC at 12 Tawonga cres about 1961.
After Dad And mum passed away my sister Sue purchased the house and is currently living there ( it is now 2014)
The fences and driveway and patio at 12 Tawonga cres were constructed by myself and my dad.
Mum and Dad are both buried in Tawonga cemetery
