    This is my grandfather, Edward Gustav Thomas born 1896 in Buffalo, NY. He died tragically young in 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA. He died of TB of the hips in a TB hospital. He lived most of his life in Meadville, PA. He married Mildred Blanche Grove and had one son, Edward Dale Thomas, Sr. EGT was among the very first fighter aircraft mechanics in history. He served in France in WWI in the 95th Aero Squadron, part of 1st Pursuit Group, and other Aero units. This picture was taken upon his arrival back home in Meadville after the war was over. Man in (I think) World War I uniform, apparently at home on furlough. Little is known about this man, who is my uncle. ID of child unknown.
