I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth.
So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her.

My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.

This is my grandfather, Edward Gustav Thomas born 1896 in Buffalo, NY. He died tragically young in 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA. He died of TB of the hips in a TB hospital. He lived most of his life in Meadville, PA. He married Mildred Blanche Grove and had one son, Edward Dale Thomas, Sr. EGT was among the very first fighter aircraft mechanics in history. He served in France in WWI in the 95th Aero Squadron, part of 1st Pursuit Group, and other Aero units. This picture was taken upon his arrival back home in Meadville after the war was over. Burr Family - Four Generations
A photo of 4 generations of the Burr family: The child is Beatrice Viola WISE, born 1906 and still going strong. The woman sitting to the right is her mother, Flossie Pearl SMITH, 1885 - 1951. The woman standing is Flossie's mother, Mary Jane (Jennie) BURR, 1868 - 1928. Mary Jane's mother is the woman sitting to the left. Her name is Angeline Victoria BROWN, 1843 - 1923.
