A photo of Amanda Elizabeth Hicks who was the reported daughter of John Daniel Hicks and Martha A. Brooks (I have found no information to verify this information). She married Jesse A. Allison in Texas. She died in 1927 and is buried in New Mexico. This is a scanned image of a photo copy. I am currently trying to obtain the original to scan.
Actually I've had a few doubts in the last few years as to whether or not my paternal grandmother WAS the daughter of Hannah (Allison) and James Ross Gordon. I've heard my grandmother (V)Ina May Gordon was adopted and raised by them. I've never been able to ascertain as to who her biological mother was. I've often wondered if she was the illigitimate baby of one of James Gordon's daughters from his prior deceased wife and that James was actually my grandmother's grandfather and Hannah Allison Gordon her step-grandmother. I've also heard that (V)Ina May Gordon's name does not appear in the Allison family bible.
Amanda Allison died in 1927, and was buried in New Mexico United States. Family, friend, or fan, this family history biography is for you to remember Amanda Elizabeth (Hicks) Allison.

Genealogy is my hobby, my profession is social work, and over the course of the last year both my parent's and my paternal grandmother passed away. Working on my Genealogy has helped me deal with the loss of my family. When I started I didn't have much to go on, but have obtained a lot of information in the last year. My Surnames are:Allison, Ainsworth, Brooks, Burns, Cornelison, Deramus, Hicks, Hobbs, Hodges, McCord, Moses, Murray, Quary, Shepherd, Stapleton, Vestal, Weir
