Amanda Powers was born 15 APRIL 1861 in Indian Valley, Plumas County,Ca. Amanda became an orphan when only two years old. At that time her parents decided to return east. Amanda lost all trace of her family. At 6 yrs old she was adopted by Mr and Mrs Ben Hardesty. Fours years later her adopted mother died while driving a heard of horses across the Sierras to CA. leaving the 10 year old to care for an infant, and it was this foster sister, who twenty five years later met Amandas real sister, Martha Snyder in CA. establishing the first family contact between them. At the age of 14, Amanda met and married Daniel Tussey Allison in Elko, Nevada on 19 May 1876.They had 11 children. the youngest was my father Raymond T.Allison.
