Son of Johan Xaviar MANGOLD*/John Jacob FARNER*,(b:30 Apr 1836, Nebikon, Altishofen, Luzern,Switzerland) and Barbara MEYER (b: 14 Aug 1841, Rümlang, Zürich, Switzerland).

On Nov.19, 1892, at age 27, he married 17 year old Louisa NEITER, (b: 19 Nov 1865, O'neill, Holt Co., NE.) after a 30 mile horse and buggy ride to O'Neill, NE, Justice of the Peace.

Their children: Frank Leapold, b: 16 Sep 1893; Leslie Mae FARNER Hewitt, b: 8 Mar 1895, Stuart, Holt Co, Ne; Floyd Durling, b: 8 Aug 1898, Dustin, Holt Co; Bernard Raymond (Ben), b:9 Feb 1901; Leo Peter, b: 10 Mar 1905; Wm Stuart (Bill), b: 10 May 1911; Zana Menuey and Ted.
