Homer and Kate (Stevens) Sheeks

Homer and Kate (Stevens) Sheeks married 10 Feb 1886 in Lawrence County, Indiana. They moved to Stuttgart, Arkansas where Homer farmed and operated a rice threshing outfit. They had three children: Arthur D. Sheeks, Harry A. Sheeks, and Reath Sheeks, whose pictures may be found elsewhere on this site. They also helped raise Harry's two sons when he was widowed. Eventually Homer and Kate divorced and she returned to Mitchell, Indiana with her grandsons whom she supported by running a boarding house. Their sons and grandsons continued to visit Homer as they were growing up. Homer returned to Mitchell three years before his death in 1942 and lived with his brother, Albert.
