Royal McGue
All you Civil War buffs out there. Need information as to where Soldier McGue was from exactly, and dates and regiment.
I am sure the the uniform is Yankee-Irish Brigade(by the emblem on hat) Also quite sure he was from Ohio
Looking for relatives.
Thank you,

Jack

Jack,
I am no expert, but this looks like a WW1 photo, or around that time. Most Civil war photos, are tin type.
Ah, but under the great coat he has the double row button blouse. I don't remember seeing any WW 1 soldiers with rifles with ramrods. And if you look closely, you can notice there isn't any lever or bolt action.
This is not a contrdiction, but I have several Civil war photos of my great grandfather and none are tintype. I've sent a copy of the photo to Carlisle Barracks for period identification. Thanx for your comments though.

Jack
