'Thorngrove' was the family home of Henry Steinhauer Gibbs. He built this when he moved from Manchester while continuing to commute to his cotton factory in Manchester. The small estate is now remembered in the name of a suburban estate in Wilmslow.
Photograph taken on the grounds of HS Gibbs Estate (Thorngrove), Wilmslow, Cheshire, England in about 1878 prior to their migration to Australia. One boy is missing. Perhaps Henry Steinhauer (b. 1867) or one of the 3 may be mis-identified here.
