People were so worried about catching influenza (rightly so!) that they often believed that a person could contract the disease by touching documents and equipment.

Heinrich (Henry) Krauss was the engineer and member of The German Syndicate of five young Germans prospectors who sunk the mine. It was the second richest gold mine on the field often yielding 1lb weight of gold to a bucket of dirt.
