Kimberly Kilburn Whitten Family

This scan of an 1850's Dagguereotype shows an incredibly beautiful young woman, early twenties perhaps, obviously married (ring on left hand) sitting next to a skirted table and sitting upon a Gothic side chair and holding another Daguerreotype of her husband (?)also in her left hand. Her clothes date to 1850-1855. Embossed in the right hand diagonal corner is the name "CHRISTOFLE". Perhaps the photographer or the studio? Surely someone out there recognizes this extraordinary beauty from other photos!

I came across this Daguerreotype and just fell in love with her exceptional beauty, and have no clues as to the identity of the woman, the location or the dates for sure. But from her appearance and dress, and the fact that it was such an early photograph, she must have been a woman of means or importance. Hopefully the name Christofle with present a clue to someone, and the mystery will be solved!

Erma and John, who were married at the St. Stephen's Catholic Church in South Bend, Indiana, were totally deaf and used to communicate with their daughter and deaf friends using sign language. Otherwise, they wrote notes. Erma became deaf after suffering from typhoid fever, caused by drinking contaminated water from a brook while on a family picnic. She graduated from the 8th grade at the Ephpheta School, a private Catholic school for the deaf in Chicago, Illinois, no longer in existence. John became deaf as an infant, when he suffered from pneumonia. He graduated from the 10th grade at the Indiana School for the Deaf in Indianapolis, Indiana.
John died 10 January 1982 and Erma 3 April 1994, both in South Bend, Indiana.

My grandfather Homer Eastman Kilburn was born and brought up in East Andover, New Hampshire. He married Emma Merrill and they had six children.

Picture belonging to Delia Dessert, maiden name Silvia or de Silva or Aguiar. Her parents were born in the Azore Islands. Her father was Delphino Silvia and mother was Marie De Costa. They lived in Massachusetts and Maine.

The picture is very haunting and unusual. Perhaps taken in the 1920's, or after??? Would love to know who these people are.

Grace Hannah Eastman married Fred Kilburn. Grace and her folks raised her son, Homer, as her husband Fred died soon after Homer was born.

This photo belonged to Aunt Betty (Kilburn) Rounds. I'm sure they must be long lost family memebers. Do you see anyone you know here??? May be from Kilburn, Abbott, Osgood or Merrill families.

The mystery is of course that I have no idea who these people are but would love to find out. Do you know who you are looking at? If so please let me know. It will be like winning the lotto! Thanks
