Clarence Walter Scheiderman was born to Margaret Jane De Groot (1902-1978) and Clarence Samuel Scheiderman (1895-1979) on February 2, 1920 in Summit, New Jersey. He had 10 siblings: William J Herbert (1917-1982), Robert J (1918-1980), Agnes (1920-1920), Margaret Lidia (1923-2002), Catherine Elizabeth (1925-2011), John Edward (1926-1999), George Allen (1928-1943), Donald J (1932-1998), Edna Mae (1935-2009), and Joesph Francis Scheiderman (1936-2003). They grew up in New Providence, Union, New Jersey. He married Viola Pearl Thom (1924-2003) in October of 1942 at the Oaks Mem. Methodist Church in Summit, New Jersey. Together they had one child. The two divorced on July 23, 1947. Viola was awarded divorce due to charge of infidelity. A few months later, he went on to marry Doris Arlene Cauthers (1924-2003) on October 31, 1947 in Summit, New Jersey. They went on to have multiple children together including Thomas Michael (1947-1989) and Doris Arlene (1950-2013).
