Edward Adolph Von Holtz Mar 19, 1858 - Aug 19, 1927 Fairfield, Connecticut, United States

November 13, 1872, at the age of 14 years, Edward enlisted as crew member (deck hand) on the ship "Schiller". November 17, the ship left Bremerhaven, Germany, with 208 passengers destined for Galveston, TX. It arrived there Jan.18, 1873. In Galveston Edward disembarked, and did not show up for the return journey of the vessel. After a few years in the US army he started a family in Connecticut, which now has branches in New York, Florida, Texas and elsewhere. His original name was Adolf Carl Eduard von Holtz. In the US he became known as Edward Von Holtz, and sometimes as Edward Vonholtz.

He was the parent of Everett E Vonholtz. He married Christine Vonholtz, and they had a child Everett Edward Vonholtz. Edward Von Holtz died at age 52 years old on December 12, 1943.
