2 Leslie Pressley Biographies

Killed in France, in part of the final offensive, somewhere between Chuignes and the German stronghold of Mont Saint Quentin. Mont Saint Quentin fell to the Allies on August 31st. The Tungamah and Lake Rowan Express. 26th September 1918. OUR SOLDIERS COLUMN Mr. Charles Pressley , of Peechalba, has received word of the death of his brother Pte. Leslie Pressley, who was killed in action in France on August 14th last. He is a son of Mr. C. Pressley sen., Katandra, and was 29 years of age. Pte. Leslie enlisted from Queensland about three years ago, and was in hospital for four months with trench feet, later on being admitted suffering from wounds. He fought in several of the big engagements in which the Australians took part. The late Pte. Leslie was well known in Peechalba. One brother Pte. William Pressley, was killed in action in September last year, and another brother George is still on active service. Two brothers reside in Queensland, one acting as manager of the property owned by him and two of the brothers who went to the war and have paid the supreme sacrifice . Sisters of deceased are Mrs W. Prideaux, Shepparton, Mrs. A. Davidson, Yarrawonga.
Leslie Pressley of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina was born on September 28, 1878, and died at age 94 years old in December 1972.
