Lucille Ruth (Resch) Taulbee was born on July 13th, 1918 in Salem, Nebraska to William Frank Resch (1884 - 1964) and Mary Margaret Mueller (1893 - 1978). Her father was born in Indiana and her mother was born in Oklahoma. Lucille had ten siblings: Dorothy, Eugene, Ola Mae, William, Robert, Betty Jane, Raymond, Mary, Earl, and one more sister. Lucille Resch married to Dr. Earl Seldon Taulbee, PhD, (1923 - 1988), born in Wolfe County Kentucky. They married in 1961. He practiced psychology at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Asheville North Carolina and Lucille had been a surgical nurse at the VA in Bay Pines, Florida. The couple both lost their lives when a train hit their car in Isom, Kentucky - a small unincorporated community in Letcher County. Police determined that the driver of their car was trying to beat the oncoming train. Lucille, who died at the age of 70, is buried in Evans Cemetery in Campton, Wolfe County, Kentucky.
