Mark Douglas Stebbins
Mark Douglas Stebbins, 12, of Ferndale Michigan was the first of the four victims of what was labeled as the Oakland County Child Killer. These cases remain unsolved to this day. The families involved have continued to push for resolve in this series of murders. There has been high speculation that the son of a high level General Motors Executive (Chris Busch) was involved in these abductions / murders. Chris had been involved in other Counties within the State of Michigan whereas charges involving inappropriate conduct with minors were significantly reduced. He was a known pedophile who committed suicide on Nov 20th, 1978. Mark disappeared on Feb. 15th, 1976 from Ferndale, MI and his body was recovered 4 days later on Feb. 19th, 1976 in Southfield, MI. Mark was survived by his mother Ruth, his father Lester and his brother Michael.
