Robert Eugene Clossen was born on October 25, 1926 in Muskingum, Ohio, United States, to Floyd Gile Clossen (1885-1950) and Floide Lillian Knipe (1890-1945). Among his siblings were Dallas Theal, Kenneth M, Donald Herman, Eva A, Rosemary, Dwight, and Harold Allen Clossen. He resided in the Zanesville area until 1997, spending summers in Mooers, New York, and wintering in Sebring. Robert served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in the Pacific Theatre after Japan's surrender. He was honorably discharged a few months later. Upon returning to Zanesville, he began his career as a mechanic at Granger's Auto Service, where he worked for six years before moving on to Armco Steel Corporation. He remained a loyal employee of Armco's maintenance department for 33 years. Robert had a passion for woodworking and spent countless hours in his garage creating various projects. His skills extended beyond woodworking to building multiple homes in the Zanesville area for his family and others, as well as working on cars and completing various home projects. He was a member of First United Methodist Church during his residency in Zanesville. Robert was married to Evelyn M. Forsythe Clossen, and together they had a son named Craig Clossen. After his wife's passing, he later found companionship with Doris Crawford.
Robert Charles Clossen
Robert Charles Clossen was born on April 19, 1921 in Wilmington, Delaware, USA to parents Charles Clossen and Edna Mary Farnan (1902–1975). He had many half siblings including Leonard Farnan, John Farnan, Bernard Farnan, Francis Farnan, Phillip Farnan, Christine Marie Kaczmarcyzk, and Patricia Farnan. Robert enlisted in the Army on March 6, 1939, when he was just 18 years old and began his military service as a Private First Class in the National Guard. He served in either the Coast Artillery Corps or Army Mine Planter Service. In September 1940, Robert was called to active duty and served for the duration of World War II. During his time in the Army, he rose through the ranks and was eventually promoted to Private First Class. He served as an enlisted man throughout his military career that spanned from 1939 to 1945. Robert was discharged from the Army on May 28, 1945. He was married to Alfreda V Clossen (1922-2006) and the couple had three children together including a son, Brian Clossen (1958-1987) and two daughters Julia and Lisa Clossen
Robert E Clossen of Denver, Jefferson County, CO was born on July 31, 1918, and died at age 67 years old on January 13, 1986. Robert Clossen was buried at Ft. Logan National Cemetery Section U Site 1488 4400 West Kenyon Avenue, in Denver.
