An inquest was held yesterday by the Sandhurst coroner , on the body of Sampson Curnow, who was killed at the North Old Chum mine on Monday, when the following verdict was returned by the jury:- "That on the 11th July, 1881, at the mine of the North Old Chum Company, Registered, the deceased, Sampson Curnow, the mining manager, was killed by a slab accidentally falling down the shaft of the said mine, and striking the deceased on the shoulder."
