Albert Anthony Zavotsky was born on April 2, 1926 in Somerset, Somerset County, New Jersey United States to Joseph Zavotsky and Margaret (Gembeca) Zavotsky, and had siblings Catherine (Zavotsky) Hackler, Charles Joseph Zavotsky, John Zavotsky, Andrew Bartholomew Zavotsky, Paul Peter Zavotsky, and Agnes Angelina Holster. He married Estelle Emily Zavotsky on September 20, 1958 at St Mary of Ostrabrama 30 Jackson Street, in South River, Middlesex County, and they were married until Albert's death on April 26, 2004 at CareOne at East Brunswick Assisted Living 664 Cranbury Road, in East Brunswick. He had children Diane Zavotsky, Jeffry Zavotsky, and Mark Zavotsky. Albert Zavotsky was buried on April 29, 2004 at Balarussia St. Mary's Cemetery in East Brunswick.

In 1926, in the year that Albert Anthony Zavotsky was born, on October 31st, Harry Houdini died in Michigan. Houdini was the most famed magician of his time and perhaps of all time, especially for his acts involving escapes - from handcuffs, straitjackets, chains, ropes slung from skyscrapers, and more.
