Alfred George Whitby was born in 1883 to Archie Charles Whitby and Louise (Mitchell) Whitby, and had siblings Arthur James Whitby, Daisy Hillier, and Ruby Young. He married Alice May Whitby, and they were married until death separated them. He had children Elsie May (Whitby) Rowland and Stanley George Whitby. Alfred Whitby died at age 55 years old on August 31, 1939 in Elsternwick, City of Glen Eira County, VIC Australia, and was buried at Brighton General Cemetery, in Caulfield South.

Whitby ( of Cowper street, Upper Hawthorn ), and loving brother of Charlie, Amy, Fred, Arthur, Daisy ( Mrs. Hillier ), and Ruby ( Mrs. Young ).
