Alice Rose (Saunders) Ellis of South Yarra Australia was born in 1872 in St Kilda to William Saunders and Augustine Kinzel Saunders. She had siblings Louise Mary Saunders and Charles Saunders. She married John McDonald Ellis, and had children John Hayman Thomas Ellis, Allan McDonald Ellis, Alice Violet (Ellis) Groves, and Thomas William Ellis. Alice Ellis died at age 85 years old on November 8, 1958 in Malvern, and was buried on November 11, 1958 at St Kilda Cemetery in St Kilda East, VIC.
