    Almus J. Adams was an intelligent and quite humorous man. He was married to Berta Hammweril Adams from Rogging, Germany. He had two children, a son Thomas Almus Ludwig Adams and a daughter, Lou Jean Adams. He loved to read books and do puzzles in his free time. He lived in Saint Jo, Texas for decades before moving to Jones, Oklahoma. He had four grandchildren, Ben Adam Milford, Sean Almus Adams, Ashley Adams, and Hannah Milford.

Having gone to bed the previous night after being treated for breathing problems, the ex-President died in his sleep from a clot that had traveled to his lungs. He was 60. After a simple service, Roosevelt was buried on a hillside overlooking Oyster Bay.
