Antonio Nigro 1906 - 1980

Antonio Nigro was born in 1906 to Giuseppe Nigro and Sebastiana (Battaglia) Nigro, and had siblings Natalizia Garrotto, Louisa Garrotto, Frank Nigro, Carmela Troia, Nicola Nigro, Annunziata Inserra Nigro, Venera Inserra Nigro, Grace Tribulato, and Rose Nigro. Antonio Nigro died at age 74 years old in 1980.

In 1906, in the year that Antonio Nigro was born, abolitionist and suffragette leader Susan B. Anthony died, before women's right to vote nationally was realized (in 1920). She, along with Elizabeth Cady Stanton, founded the National American Woman Suffrage Association which later became the League of Women Voters. She died at the age of 86 of heart failure and pneumonia in her home in New York.

In 1921, by the time he was merely 15 years old, hugely popular Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, silent film star, was arrested for rape and manslaughter after an actress died following a party at his house. He was acquitted after three trials and the jury wrote a formal letter apologizing for the charges, but his career never recovered. His films were at first banned - the ban was lifted after a year - and he was mostly ostracized by the community. He died at 46..
