Carl Alexander Fleming of Herington, Kansas United States was born on November 21, 1881 in MO to James Alexander Fleming and Rachel Rebekah (Anders). Carl Fleming had siblings Allie Fleming, Ulysses Grant Fleming, May Fleming, Abraham B. Fleming, Myra Fleming, Mary Fleming, and Lillie M. E. Fleming. He married Josephine Elizabeth (Northrup) in 1930. He married Katherine Emma (Twist), and they were married until Katherine's death on February 12, 1975. Carl's partner was Josephine Elizabeth Northrup, and they had children Harry Bernard Fleming, James Edwin Fleming, George William Fleming, Marjorie Fleming, and Raymond F Kingman. Carl Fleming died at age 88 years old on January 2, 1970 in Salina, OK.

In 1881, in the year that Carl Alexander Fleming was born, on October 26th, the "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral" happened in Tombstone, Arizona. The gunfight lasted only 30 seconds - the Earps and Doc Holliday on one side and the "Cowboys" on the other side. The McLaury brothers and Billy Clanton of the Cowboys were killed. Two of the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday were wounded.
