A gift from France, the base for the statue had been built using donations from the American public. In 1905, at the age of 19 years old, Carrie was alive when acclaimed dancer Isadora Duncan established the first school of modern dance in Berlin Germany. Isadora Duncan, born in San Francisco California, dedicated herself to the creation of beauty - through dance.
