Charlene Washington of Williston died Aug. 10 at Hospice of the Tri-Counties in Chiefland after a long illness. She was 72.

Mrs. Washington was a lifelong resident of Williston.

She was a retired nursing assistant and a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Williston.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Washington of Williston; a daughter, Linda Harvey of Williston; sisters Susie Nichols of Williston, Roberta Jenkins of Green Cove Springs and Mamie Marable of Clinton, Md.; a brother, Lind B. Pitts of Williston; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren.
