Charlotte Isabel (Shand) Barton was born in 1903 to Alexander Shand and Isabelle May (Langlands) Shand, and had siblings John Walter Shand, Irene Florence (Shand) Reeve, Laura Frances (Shand) Clemenn, Frank Shand, Horace Alexander Shand, John Shand., George Shand, Grace Gertrude (Shand) Scadden, and Ellen (Shand) Winwood. Charlotte Barton married David John Barton, and died at age 68 years old in 1971.

    The Argus, Melbourne. 3rd September 1923. MARRIAGES. BARTON. - SHAND. On the 21st June, at the residence of the bride's parents, Welshpool, South Gippsland, by the Rev. H. Busby, David John Barton, eldest son of Mrs. and the late W. Barton, to Charlotte Isabel, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Shand. Present address - Tarwin Park, Buffalo.

The Boston Americans of the American League played the Pittsburgh Pirates of the National League.
