He married Ellen Mary Barry Mcglead in 1892, and had children Edward John Mcglead, Kathleen Millicent Mcglead, Cecelia McGlead, William Henry "Harry" McGlead, Florence Mary Mcglead, Daniel Thomas Mcglead Jr., Effie May Mcglead, Norman Stanley Mcglead, Ethel May Mcglead, and Frances Edna Mcglead. Daniel McGlead died at age 75 years old on May 19, 1940 in Northcote, City of Darebin County.
