David George Symers Whalley was a plantation planter in the Fiji Islands. Born in 1860, he married twice, firstly to Violet Morton and secondly to Margaret McLennan. He and his second wife resided in Waimanu Road, Suva, Fiji. His death occurred at 69 Knollys Street, Suva, he was buried in the Suva Cemetery on November 6, 1924. Officiating the burial were Rev. W.J. Hands, Church of England minister. His death was the result of a cerebral hemorrage syncope which lasted for twelve months before he died on November 5, 1924. There is no recorded entry of any children from either marriage. Charles James Morey registered his death at the Registry of Deaths on 17 February, 1925. Certificate number 111711.
