Edward Merrifull Hawking 1871 - 1933

Edward Merrifull Hawking was born in May 1871 to William Henry Hawking and Margaret (Morgan) Hawking, and had siblings Elizabeth Eleanor (Hawking) Chaston, John Hawking, and Mary Jane (Hawking) Hivon. He married Florence Ada (Forster) Hawking, and they were married until death separated them. Edward Hawking died at age 62 years old on October 6, 1933 in Mooroopna, Greater Shepparton City County, VIC Australia, and was buried at Kyabram Cemetery, Lancaster Rd, in Kyabram, Campaspe Shire County.

    The Kyabram Free Press. Victoria. 10th October 1933. - Mr. Edward Hawking. Mr. Edward Hawking, of Kyabram, on Friday morning, about 1 o'clock, passed away in the Mooroopna Hospital, of which institution he had been an inmate for 8 weeks. He had been ill for some time previously. In his 62nd year ( he was 61 in May last ) at the time of his death Mr. Hawking had led an active and useful life. He leaves a widow and family of five - Bernice ( Corowa ), Floss ( Mrs. Taylor, Weerite ), Gladys ( Mrs. J. Tracy, Melbourne), Edward and Keith. Sisters and brothers are Mrs. Chaston ( Kyabram ), Mrs. Hivon ( Sale), Mrs. Leask ( Bunyip ), Maggie ( Kyabram ), George ( Murchison ), Emmanuel, James and Arthur T. ( Kyabram ). The late Mr. Hawking, who was a blacksmith by calling, was well known in Kyabram and Rushworth. The Shepparton Advertiser. Vic. 9th October 1933. Mr. E. Hawking. Mr. Edward Hawking, retired blacksmith, of Kyabram, aged 60 years, died in Mooroopna Hospital on Friday. A widow and family are left.
