Eino Arvid Sarppo 1903 - 1937

Eino Arvid Sarppo was born in April 1903 to John Sarppo and Valpuri Sarppo, and had siblings Ida Olivia Hanka, Amelia Gustava Baier, Emil Jacob Sarppo, Hilma Ester Lavaque, and Walter Leonard Sarppo. He married Eva Marie (Kauppinen) in June 1928, and had a child Robert Sarppo. Eino Sarppo died at age 34 years old in April 1937.

In 1903, in the year that Eino Arvid Sarppo was born, the United States Department of Commerce and Labor was created by President Theodore Roosevelt to control the excesses of big business. Renamed the Department of Commerce 10 years later, many departments concerned with workers were transferred to the Department of Labor at that time. Another spin-off, the Bureau of Corporations, became the Federal Trade Commission.
